Choosing the Right Tool for Cleaning

When it comes to HVAC cleaning, you are only as good as the tool you use. Most contractors end up with a myriad of tools and do not know where to start. Here is a guide to picking the right one for the job.

HVAC System Cleaning Equipment

  • Brushes- For the most part, brushes will be used to clean the interior of the duct. If there is a high accumulation of dirt, the brush is your go-to tool as it does a better job than air washing and air whips.
  • Air Whips- An air whip combines air washing and agitation from the whips. It is great for removing or loosening debris found in the duct. Whips work best on light to medium dust.
  • Air Washing- Air washing uses high pressure air to also remove dirt from the ducts. It is works best for maintaining the duct throughout the year. It can fit through 1” holes if necessary but not as effective as brushes or air whips.

All three tools are needed in your arsenal of cleaning equipment. See all of your agitation and cleaning tool options.  Please call *55-Vac-System or 952-808-1619 if you have any questions or need additional information on anything.
